麻生首相は昨夜経済対策を発表した。その中で各家庭に定額の現金か商品券？を配ると発表した。また高速道路の値下げを発表した。
先ず最初の現金支給を全家庭に約6万円（４人の家庭）支給。私はそれには反対である。その金をむしろ子育ての家庭のみに支給して貰いたい。困っている人に支給したいとすれば次に若い契約社員に。そして中年に。全所帯にではなく先ず今困窮している人に援助して貰いたい。
高速道路も同じことが言える。マイマー族に優遇するのでなく、物流に関係しているトラックに援助して安く走れるように。その効果として物の値段が下がり、庶民の生活が少しは楽になる。
もっと考えられる物が首相の方針にはあると思うが、先ずは上述したことを実行してくれれば次の総選挙では彼・自民党はは勝てると思う。いかがなものか。

大麻を吸う事が「タバコ」を吸うことと同じと考える若者が増えてきている。スポーツ界は勿論、芸能界にも蔓延しつつある。これが学園にまで及んできている。外国に行って大麻を吸っているのを見て格好がよいと思い、大麻を貰ったり、買ったりして常習化して帰国。日本では大麻、麻薬は厳禁である。
一般にはそんなに恐ろしい麻薬と思われていないので、ついまた大麻に手を出す。今は街角で簡単に買える。またネットなどを通してその種を購入できる。自宅で、寮で、マンションで栽培する者が増えてきている。今回は慶応大生が逮捕された。そこで医学的見地から人体への影響を調べてみた。
大麻の致死量は、カンナビノイドの含有量が品種によって違うため断定出来ないが、過剰摂取による死亡例の報告は無く、急性中毒による死亡はまずないと言われている。しかし、マリファナの吸引は燃焼時のタールによって慢性的な気管支炎、癌、喘息などの原因となり、懐疑的ではあるが精神的な害としては統合失調症、鬱、パラノイアなどの大麻精神病が挙げられる。

創刊が1943年。戦前からある週刊誌が休刊を発表した。戦後やたらに週刊誌、月刊誌が発刊された。いかがわしい週刊誌、月刊誌が多くあった。今はそれが整理されて安定した週刊誌だけが発売されていたと思っていたがやはり売れない週刊誌・月刊誌が姿を消す。
戦後直後の日本の雑誌はワシントンに保存されている。当時の世相を調べられる。
アメリカでも同じようなことが起きている。米新聞クリスチャン・サイエンス・モニター（CSM）は来年四月から電子版に完全移行すると発表した。新聞を紙にして発行しないでホームページや電子メールで記事を配信する。
興味を持つ人は契約を結んで自家のプリンターで取り出せばよい。また携帯に移せばよい。
この試みを「読売ウイクリー」も試みてから休刊とか廃刊に持って行けばいいと思う。自信を持って編集して読者を獲得する努力がどのくらいしていたか。この週刊のみではない。ほかの週刊誌・月刊誌も根本的に考える時期に来ている。

今日今年度の文化勲章受章者が発表された。その中に古橋広之進氏が入っていた。彼と文化勲章はマッチしないようであるが、戦後小学校を過ごした者には「心からお目出度う」と叫びたい。
彼の競技ぶりは当時の新聞には記載されていたであろうが、我々子供には彼のことが教科書に載ったので鮮明に覚えている。彼の略歴を見ると
生年月日1928（昭和3）年9月16日
· 雄踏小学校6年の時に100mと200mの自由形で学童新記録を樹立した。その際、新聞報道で「豆魚雷」との異名を付けられた。
· その後、浜松第二中学校（現・静岡県立浜松西高等学校）へ進学したものの、太平洋戦争の激化により水泳を続けることができなかった。勤労動員で砲弾工場で作業していた際に旋盤に左手の中指を挟まれ、指先を切断するという事故に遭っている。
· 日本大学進学後は、再び水泳を再開した。
· 1947年の日本選手権では400m自由形を4分38秒4で優勝し、公式記録にはならなかったものの当時の世界記録を上回るタイムを出した。
· 1948年のロンドンオリンピックは敗戦国の日本は参加は認められなかったため不出場だった。このとき、日本ではオリンピックの決勝戦の日程に合わせて競技会を開き、出場した古橋らのタイムはオリンピックの金メダリストを 上回った。さらに同年の日本選手権で、400m自由形4分33秒4、1500m自由形で18分37秒0を出し、いずれも当時の世界新記録を上回った。同年 9月の学生選手権の400m自由形で4分33秒0、800m自由形で9分41秒0の世界記録より早かった。（上記記録は日本が国際水泳連盟から除名されて いたため、世界記録としては公認されなかった）
· 1949年に日本の国際水泳連盟復帰が認められ、古橋ら6選手が全米選手権に招待されて参加し、400m自由形4分33秒3、800m自由形9分33秒5、1500m自由形18分19秒0で世界新記録を樹立し、アメリカの新聞では「フジヤマのトビウオ」（The Flying Fish of Fujiyama）と呼ばれた。

大学生になって5月という月は昔「五月病」と呼ばれて新入生が精神的に不安定になる月である。それに対して大学では色々と方策を立てて学生を癒している。今は昔ほどではないかも知れないが「心の病」を抱えている生徒も数多いと思う。携帯に、PCにのめり込んでいて人によっては「よからぬ方向」に行っている学生もいるかも知れない。
ICUでは「リトリート」という行事をしている。「退修会」と云うそうである。キャンパスを離れて一泊2日の研修旅行である。全教師と一年生が自然豊かな環境の中に退いて、新しい方向性を見いだそうとする行事である。
辞書で調べると

となっている。もともとは宗教的行事であった。それを大学で取り入れたものと思える。
私が昭和32年ミッションスクール・明治学院大学に入学した。そこには「アドバイザー制度」があり、20人に1人の教授がついて4年間面倒を見る制度であった。高等学校でのホームルーム制度である。今もその制度は続いている。
5月になると大学を離れて山中湖の大学専用の寮で1泊2日の合宿をした。初めてのクラスメートとの交わりで大学生活を円滑にするものである。有効な制度であった。アメリカの大学の制度を導入したものであった。私の大学では「アドバイザーズ・キャンプ」を云っていた。
その当時を振り返っているが、今の大学ではそのような繋がりがあまりないと聞くとICUとか明治学院大学でやっている「キャンプ」はどの大学でも必要である。

体力の基礎力は？剣道、水泳、器械体操。この種目をこなしたのが三浦皇成騎手。中央競馬で新人賞最多勝を達成した18歳の三浦騎手である。騎手を目指して小学校5年生から乗馬を始めた。
剣道、水泳、器械体操をその時からやって今18歳で背筋力は２００キロ。この背筋力は柔道の五輪金メタリスト・井上康生選手と同じレベルである。騎手に背筋力が必要なのかと疑問を持つが、馬上で軸がぶれないフォームを生む。
では学力の基礎力は？短期間で学力の基礎は出来ない。江戸時代から云われていることは「読み・書き・そろばん」。幼稚園からこの訓練をやれば中学、高校で花が咲く。例えばそろばんをやり、暗算をやっていると歴史の暗記とか、英語の単語を覚えるのに、応用が出来る。これは実証されている。
外国語学習を幼いときからやらせる親が増えているが基礎力「読み・書き・そろばん」を作ってから初めても遅くない。焦るな。基礎力をつけさせよう。

1970年9月29日のサザエさんに「禁煙・禁酒の会」を取り上げられている。いや、居酒屋の話である。私は居酒屋の話よりも約40年前に禁煙・禁酒の問題を取り上げているサザエさんの漫画にシャッポを脱ぐ。
今は健康面から見ると現実感があるが、その当時は健康の問題として取り上げられていない。酒もタバコも庶民の嗜好品である。ささやかなものである。ところが麻生数理になると「葉巻をふかしながら」一日のストレスを取っている。かなり庶民感覚からは遠いものである。庶民的ではない。
禁煙・禁酒を健康から、医療費の問題から考えるようになってきた。中高年の医療費をカットされる時代である。日常の努力も「禁煙・禁酒」から。そして運動をする。脳の訓練をする。
タバコも酒もやらない私は酒飲み、タバコを吸う人に同情せざるを得ない。

フェンシングの太田選手が昨日入社会見をした。北京オリンピックのため、青春のほとんどを費やした。就職のことを考えなく、大学院へ進学せずにフェンシングに熱中した。この競技はヨーロッパでは人気があっても日本ではほとんど注目されなかった。
剣道は警察官もやっているし、高校でもクラブ活動としてする生徒もいるが、フェンシングはほとんどやっている学生はいない。そのような分野のスポーツは就職にも有利にはならない。幸い彼はオリンピックという大舞台で「銀」メタルを取ったので注目され、約30社からのオーファーがあった。
森永製菓に入社できたので、社会人として自活できる。練習も不安なしにできる。仲間も増えてきている。自分のやっている種目がメジャーになったことと共に生活が安定したことで「感謝」を含めて涙の会見となった。
不景気な今、大学生も来年の就職もままならなくなって来た。若者行く道は厳しい。若者に夢を持たせる社会を目指してみんなで頑張りたい。

この夜の会合は庶民感覚からすると豪遊であると写るのである。TVのコメンテーターは総理に好意的である。自分の収入でやっているのである。他人がとやかく言われる云われる理由はないという見解である。
しかし今という時期を考えるべきではないか。昔のように日本人は全員中流と言われていた時代ではない。いまはほとんどの（？）ワーキングプアである。そこで勝ち組が豪華な豪遊するとなると庶民は別の気持ちで彼の豪遊を見ている。総選挙で彼の行動が判断されるだろう。
マスコミに出ているコメンテーターも同じ人種である。彼等にとっては「普通の」行動であろう。打ち合わせはホテルでやると言っている。しかしこれも局でやるとか事務所でやるとか、いくらでも場所はあるし、安くやれる。節約の時代、安くあげなければならない時代に入っている。
全ての層で節約していくときである。政治家も率先して実行して貰いたい。総理の「私」に踏み込む積もりがないが、率先して慎ましい生活をしていることを国民に示して貰いたい。

英語が日本に入ってきた。そしてカタカナ表現として和製英語になった言葉が多い。国語研は混乱する表現を発表して改める。言い換えを提案した。
今回は医療の用語である。エビデンス＝「(立証するための)証拠(物件), 物証; 証言」が英和に出てくる定義である。ところが医療用語では「この治療法がよいといえる証拠」一般人は英和辞典の範囲しか知らないので医者の使うエビデンスは理解できない。
ショック＝(衝突･爆発･地震などの)衝撃，震動. [具体的には (精神的な)ショック，打撃，衝撃，驚き 【医】 ショック(症) die of shock ショック死する.医療用語「血圧が下がり生命の危険がある状態」我々は「ショック死」という表現は日常的に使っている。
セカンドオピニオン「ask for a second opinion 別の人の意見を求める.」は英語的に考えると「はじめて診察してくれた医者が納得できなく、反対の診察をしてくれる医者の診察」である。必ずしも第二番目の医者の診察ではない。別の医者でも同じ診察をした場合はセカンドオピニオンとは英語では言わない。
などいろんな用語を我々は間違った意味で外来語として使っている。医者の意味と一般人の意味が違っている場合は誤診まで行くので要注意である。

世界的金融不安の中、急きょ「金融サミット」をニューヨークで開催される。その期間が（？）解散されているかも知れない。総理は選挙中でも出かけて「日本の役割」を果たすと言っている。
この彼の行動に二つの解釈、意見がある。１．選挙期間中なら首相には国際会議に行くより、選挙区を1カ所でも多く足を運んで貰いたい」２．首相は「解散しても金融サミットには出席する」と言っている。
国内不在に懸念の声も上がっているが、麻生氏は出席に意欲満々である。彼の生き方、政治家のスタイルからすればニューヨークに必ず行くであろう。彼は日本の代表である、指導者である。どちらを選択するかが彼の政治家の生き様を示すので国民は判断を下す。
重要なことが次から次へと波のように我が国に押し寄せて来ている。それをどう裁くかは政治家の手腕である。自民党であれ、民主党であれそれをさばくことは非常に難しい。戦後は終わった。新しい世紀が始まったと言われている。テキストにないシナリオを書いて国民をリードする。官僚にも初めての経験になる。どの政党が政権を取ろうとその下書きを書く事務方はどんな予測をしているのだろうか。
官僚は気が緩んでいていろんな不祥事を起こし、暴露されている。
戦後はアメリカという「デモクラシー」がモデルで下書きが出来たが、今はそのモデルも壊れている。東洋の知恵にその道を求めるか。「論語」も「武士道」もその手本にし、政治家、学者、庶民も一丸となって邁進すべきである。

公人は公の場所に顔を出すことが多いし、自分の言葉で話をする事が多い。思うことを存分に発言できる。TVで公人を表情とか語気に注意して観察していると、その人の人格が滲み出る。また今置かれている立場を率直に表現している。
ラジオであると声だけであるが、TVであるとその都度の表現がその人の考えが正直に出る。それを見てその人に賛同する人もいれば、反対する人もいる。例えば今の総理を選ぶとき、麻生氏と小沢氏でどちらが総理に相応しいかと問えば麻生氏がダブルスコアで小沢氏を圧倒する。政策となると必ずしも「与党・自民党」を選ぶという数字が出てこない。
大阪府知事の橋下氏もマスコミに出て自分の意見を素直に（？）発表する。ある時はそれが大問題になる。今回は朝日新聞を公の会合で批評した。その会場は陸上自衛隊のある記念行事での祝辞で「朝日新聞は悪口ばかり」と述べた。
問題とするとすれば、朝日新聞はどちらかと言えば自衛隊に対してある意見を持っていると言われている。彼がそのことが頭にあっての表現であるような気がする。これを公人として発言していいものか。
自分に対して批判しているのならその問題を扱っている場合で自分の意見を発言すべきである。そのくらいの知恵を持って公務に励んで貰いたい。公務を利用して私憤をはらしてはいけない。これが公人としてのイロハのイである。

今年のプロ野球も最終局面にきている。クライマックスシリーズを今続行中。そして日本シリーズに入り、シーズンオフとなる。球団によっては秋季キャンプに入っている。
若者がアメリカを目指して日本球界に入らずにすぐにアメリカに行きたい。それに対してペナルティを科すと決めたようだ。
日本のプロ野球に魅力をつける。そのための方策を私は考えてみた。
１． 年金を確立する。少なくとも現時点で年間３０００万円を年金として確立する。一軍のプロ在籍１０年間が条件。
２． 選手としても出身中学・高校・大学・ノンプロを指導できる。自分を鍛えることも必要であるが教えることにより自分を向上できる。
３． 地域奉仕も積極的に行う。休みはゴルフもよいけれど地域に出ていくことが重要である。サイン会も必要。球場にファンを呼ばなければならない。球団によってはそれを実行しているところもある。
４． 何よりも日本人、若者に「夢」を与える職業であると自覚する。
サーカーはすでにこのようなことは実行している。遅まきながらプロ野球も今から実行すべきである。

新制度になって司法試験が難しくなったか、易しくなったか。旧制度では何年も司法試験を目指して「苦学」をした。10年もかけて受かるのが普通のようであった。
それが新制度では「法科大学院」に入学して試験に挑む。各大学院は独自の指導で合格を出そうと必死になっている。日弁連法務研究団が3校に「不適格」の評価を下した。
多くの大学が法科大学院を作って競ってきた。その最初の評価がなされて不適格を実名入りで公表された。これ等の大学院はその対策に日夜シックハックしている。入学者が全て試験に受かるわけではない。受験者の3割出れば大学としては合格であろう。
また合格者の中で研修を経て正式に弁護士・裁判官・検事になる人も全員でないようだ。また一般の人が裁判官になって事件を判断しなければならなくなる。
それをリードするためにも優秀な司法者が出ることを願う。

日本は戦後不況を経験している。と言っても約7割の日本人は戦後生まれになるので「不況」などはどんな物かは理解出来ない。私もかすかに分かるだけである。お腹がへる。それを耐える訓練は自然と生まれながら身についた。
大学時代は「学生寮」に入っていたとき3食は食べていたが夜中はお腹がすいて、友達が「ラーメン」30円を食べに外出していたのを横目に見て耐えていた。食事にどんな物が出ても美味しく食べていた。
着る物には無関心であるのでその欲に悩まされなかった。異性には目がいった。やはり「食欲」が一番強い。これとの戦いが青少年時代であった。
日本が今不況に陥りつつあるときに先ず「食」が問題になる。今店にはまだふんだんに陳列されているが「毒」などによって陳列が少なくなってきた。また輸入が少なくなると人々はパニックにならないか。
飢えに苦しむことが「不況」と聞くと心に浮かぶ。収入が少なくなり、食べ物が足りなくなり、人間関係が薄くなる。暴動にならないように政治家はグランド・プランを次期選挙に公約して貰いたい。将来に希望がもてる世を作るために。

最近は安く、多量を買える時代になってきた。冷凍で長く保存できる。この流れに沿って農水省、業者が外国で生産させて輸入する。このルートは工業製品だけと最近まで思っていた。所が今は食料品までそのことが波及してきた。
Made in Chinaは電化製品とか、雑貨製品で特にアメリカでよく見かけていた。アメリカでアメリカ製を買おうとしてもほとんど見つけられなかった。最近は日本でも同じである。ところがそこにきて「毒入り」餃子からはじまって「毒入り」生野菜にまで及んできた。
そこで考えたいのが自給率を上げることを長期、中期プログラムを国家が旗を振って実行すべきで時となった。まず、少々高くとも、高くとも国産に目を向ける。輸入品を少なくして国産を奨励する。見てくれが良いとか悪いとかでなく生産者が分かる表示を示して徐々に国民に理解して貰う。
金額が高くとも国産を奨励し、生活費に金をかけることが必要である。肥満に悩んでいる日本人は時間を見つけて国産を助ける奉仕も必要である。この運動をやりながら「スローライフ」を実行しよう。

47-49 Late at night, the boat was far out at
sea; Jesus was still by himself on land. He could see his men struggling

欧米にある日本企業は積極的に地域で奉仕活動を行う。日本の企業風土にはそのような習慣がない。土曜日・日曜日・休日を使って社員が地域奉仕をする。勿論金も出す。地域があっての企業である。恩返しの精神である。
日本に来ている企業も地域に還元を行っている。AIGは新日フィルに資金援助をしていた。今回の金融危機でそれが出来なくなる。新日フィルの活動の一環として区内の公立中学校の吹奏楽部員を直接指導してきた。プロに指導して貰うことは若い部員には励ましになる。
それが出来なくなるかも知れないという危機に直面している。同フィルは「来年も続けたいが、グループ企業の今後が決まらないのでどうなるのか」と心配している。
いろんな分野に影響が出始めている。金融危機は庶民の生活のみならず思わぬ文化活動にも影響を与えている。しばらくは不安が続くだろうが、文化活動は続けて貰いたい。

峰岸氏肺がんで死去。まだまだ活躍できる俳優でアメリカの俳優のような容貌があってファンも多かった。中年になって「トライアスロン」に挑戦していた。身体には自身があったのだろう。
彼はある時から医者の警告で「タバコ」はやめていた。肺がんというと喫煙に関係するが必ずしもそうとも言えない。家族の中で肺がんに罹った人がいる家系は早めの検査が必要である。咳き込むことが多いとか、タバコの煙の中で生活している人は検査を受ける必要がある。
映画を作ったりする現場は今でもタバコを吸う人々が多い。分煙を奨励されているけれども疲れとかによって身体のバランスを崩すと癌になりやすいのかも知れない。
日本の男性の癌による死亡が第一位であるとTVで知った。胃がんかと思っていたがこの癌は発見されてからの治療がわりと容易である。肺がんの治療は非常に難しくやはり早期発見が重要である。検診に行く習慣を我々は持つべきである。
